The situation for dogs in Romania is heartbreaking, over 600,000 dogs and thousands of cats live on the streets. That’s more than in any other European country. The Romanian stray dog policy is capture, hold and kill.

Our sanctuaries
The REAN sanctuaries are a safe place for the dogs when they have been rescued from the streets or a kill shelter. The dogs are cared for by the Romanian team until they are adopted. We also house dogs in our Norfolk sanctuary.

Dogs in Romania are often abused and brutally tortured and many reach us in a shocking condition, requiring urgent medical attention. Your donation will help towards these essential vet fees.

We provide funding for the spaying and neutering of stray animals and pets of low income families in villages near our sanctuaries. Animals for adoption will be neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped before they come to the UK.

The situation regarding cats in Romania is similar to that of dogs with large numbers living on the streets. We care for cats and offer them kindness, medical attention and shelter.

By rehoming a dog from Romania you are giving the greatest gift imaginable.
These beautiful creatures have had a very tough start and you can bring happiness, security and love into their lives.
Please help us
We rescue Romanian dogs that would otherwise suffer horrific deaths. We bring them to loving new homes in the UK.
As well as feeding and homing the dogs while they are in the Romanian kennels, we must fund all veterinary fees and cover costs for neutering, vaccination and microchipping before the animals leave Romania. In addition to this we have to pay to transport the animals from Romania and the UK kennel costs when they arrive.
