In 2010, a group of friends came together with a shared vision of making a positive impact in their community. They founded Rean - Rescuing European Animals in Need, an organization dedicated to supporting those in need.

Over the years, Rean - Rescuing European Animals in Need has grown from a small group of volunteers to a respected organization with a wide range of programmes and services. We are proud to have helped thousands of individuals and families in need.

At Rean - Rescuing European Animals in Need, we measure our success by the impact we have on the lives of those we serve. We are proud to have made a positive difference in our community and beyond.
about us
Founded in 2013, REAN works towards preventing cruelty and suffering of Romanian stray dogs by rescuing dogs and providing a better life for them by offering these dogs for adoption.
Our Romanian dog rescue has so far rescued and re-homed over 3,000 stray animals in need. In addition to saving, we also fund spay and neuter for strays and pets of families with low income, in villages around our sanctuaries.
We have two sanctuaries in Romania and have over 200 stray dogs in our care at any one time. Our UK kennels are in Dereham, Norfolk.
We rescue dogs and cats from kill shelters and the streets of Romania and provide them with a safe environment and medical care in one of our sanctuaries, until they are re-homed in the UK.
Our UK team makes regular visits to Romania to assist local rescuers and to deliver much-needed aid such as medical supplies, dog food and bedding. Our Romanian volunteers save dogs who have been forced to live on the streets.

As well as feeding and caring for the dogs in the Romanian kennels, we fund the veterinary costs for neutering, vaccination and microchipping before any animal can leave Romania. In addition to this we have to pay transport costs and UK kennel costs when the dogs reach us.
